Great story about my former co-worker

In a few days we can say "Leon, Leon!" But we can always talk about the "dowwwwnfalll of society!" NebraskaPressWomen.org

What's your parking "personality?"

Do you "Search and Destroy" or do you "Lay and Wait?" Maybe you're a "Stalker" or do you just "See it and take it?" Read the story and decide what parking style you have: TheOmahaChannel.com - Automotive - Crowded Lots Bring Out Parking Personalities

Scribble a message in the margin

At last! Permission to scribble in my books, though according to Ben Macintyre's rules, I shouldn't do it in my hardcovers. But that's where I scribble most! I don't know if it's because those are the ones which have the content I want to scribble about or if it's just that they have wider margins than paperbacks....hmmm. Either way, I'm giving way to the urge to scribble!

Teen's mom rekindles debate over novel

It's one thing to say your child can't read a controversial book in school, but to keep his whole class from reading it is something else. As Clemson University (S.C.) English professor says, "There's a fine line between good parenting and censorship."
What almost worries me more than this is that this mother had "never heard of" Catcher in the Rye. Granted, I've never read it either, but I'm familiar with the title, and it's been on my mental "To be read someday" list. Maybe I'll move it to the active TBR list...

Thanks to Jade Walker for the heads-up on this story in her blog, Afterthoughts

Radio Netherlands

Dutch news in English: Radio Netherlands (okay, so this is mostly for myself, but let's face it...if you're reading this, you're probably me)
